Bonargrove's first major signing this season is Mark Gorgon from fierce rivals Dundee Social. This is sure to stir things up ahead of the new campaign after Bonar also defeated them in the Alex Smith trophy final. Gorgon was influential and outstanding under Kevin Vials Dundee Social team. After they pushed Douglas Ath all the way to the tension Tuesday showdown they fell short of winning the league.Defeat in the cup final meant social had a trophy less season. With Bonargrove completing the historic cup double, Coach Cameron made it clear to the Bonargrove board that this was his number one target after Turo's shock apparent retirement.(this is still to be confirmed). After weeks of negotiating the deal, it was signed last night and Mark received his Bonargrove team wear, much to his delight. This is only the start of what looks to be a very busy time for Bonargrove in the transfer market. Big name players are expected to be signed as Bonargrove look to contest the league this year and retain their cups.

An ecstatic coach Cameron commented on his first signing for the season " Mark's move to Dundee Social never worked out for him as he always felt second best, so when i heard of his contract coming to an end, i felt the time was right to make him part of the double winning family. I'm sure his experience and ability will help take the club to the next level of football domination. He’ll bring a bit of composure to our team,He’ll be a good focus for the team in terms of points of defending and attacking".
"This is only the start of our big name signings" exclaimed coach Cam before trying to seal some more deals for big name players.

Upon becoming a Bonargrove player, Mark told Bonargrove website: "Joining Bonargrove AFC is a dream come true for me. I look forward to playing my part in helping this club win more honours in the years to come. I've handled expectation and pressure throughout my life - I'm not scared of that. That's why I'm here," This is perhaps the last step in my career and the biggest club in the amateur football. I feel I can develop in the way I want here and the way I've always wanted. That's the most important thing." he said moments after signing his contract at pub in Dundee.

Bonargrove's most successful Manager Mark Scrimgeour received the call from coach Cameron late last night confirming the signing and said to us he was delighted to finally capture the elegant player and admitted: "This is a key signing. Mark is one of the best and most exciting defenders in Dundee Sunday morning football."His style and ability will give the team a different dimension and I’m sure he will be a popular player with the fans.“It’s a fantastic piece of business by the club. We've signed a very clever player; great vision, balance, he’s a good tackler and he has presence. That’s not just in terms of his height, he’s got an overall presence about him".

Bonargrove's Commercial Executive Director Marc Stanton added "Mark is delighted to have fulfilled his dream of coming here. He’s looking forward to being part of a team that’ll be challenging for honours on all fronts."

At the time of this being announced, we contacted Dundee Social Manager Kevin Vials about this breaking news but he was unavailable for comment.
