This report once again comes courtesy of Mark "Corfu" Stanton.
Another Sunday and more phone calls to get players up, also to find out where Coach Cam ended up after Deja. Coach Cam as usual phoned his players at crazy o'clock to make sure they were in bed for this big match and express his love to them. Gaffer Scrim and Deek turned up in a Stanton state- steaming!!. Players still out injured were in the Bonar ward at Ninewells getting treatment for being moths. Workaholic Dunny was delivering shopping to grannys and still giving them the chat!!
Central started playing mind games from the start by setting fire to one of their homes on the centre circle. The weelie bin was no more. KO was delayed 30 mins and venue changed. Thommo who turned up to watch started at left back. Jenks got out his bed eventually and Deko appeared from no where.
Bonar as usual got off to the worst start, Central dominated the early stages and found themselves 2-0 up early on. Deek got sent off for dissent but he was that drunk the ref couldnt understand what he was saying anyway. Robbie went in goal and the team hoped to keep the score down. Bonar got better in the first half and had chances to draw level.
Scrim gave his normal teamtalk - "we need tigers". This spurned the Bonar players into a roaring second half display. Bonar from the start put Central under pressure. Chance after chance passed and it looked like one of those days, but Ascot Dave's shot deflected in and comeback was on. Central struggled to cope with corners and Sheva's flick was drilled home by Thommo. Thommo was sent off and Central player walked also. Bonar had chances to win it in normal time but extra time was needed.
Extra time started and Bonar carried on where they left off. Bonar had the better chances. Central never really threatened the solid Bonar defence, led by Kolo Turo. Bonar's sidelines erupted like the Icelandic volcano as Sheva's bullet header sent Central out of the cup. Central piled on the pressure but Bonar held out for another semi final!!!!. 3 semi finals now this season for Bonar. Team night out on sat for Sheva's new hobbie- getting married. Ladies take a ticket!!!
