Gorgon was influential and outstanding under Kevin Vials Dundee Social team. After they pushed Douglas Ath all the way to the tension Tuesday showdown they fell short of winning the league.Defeat in the cup final meant social had a trophy less season. With Bonargrove completing the historic cup double, Coach Cameron made it clear to the Bonargrove board that this was his number one target after Turo's shock apparent retirement.(this is still to be confirmed). After weeks of negotiating the deal, it was signed last night and Mark received his Bonargrove team wear, much to his delight. This is only the start of what looks to be a very busy time for Bonargrove in the transfer market. Big name players are expected to be signed as Bonargrove look to contest the league this year and retain their cups.

An ecstatic coach Cameron commented on his first signing for the season " Mark's move to Dundee Social never worked out for him as he always felt second best, so when i heard of his contract coming to an end, i felt the time was right to make him part of the double winning family. I'm sure his experience and ability will help take the club to the next level of football domination. He’ll bring a bit of composure to our team,He’ll be a good focus for the team in terms of points of defending and attacking".
"This is only the start of our big name signings" exclaimed coach Cam before trying to seal some more deals for big name players.

Upon becoming a Bonargrove player, Mark told Bonargrove website: "Joining Bonargrove AFC is a dream come true for me. I look forward to playing my part in helping this club win more honours in the years to come. I've handled expectation and pressure throughout my life - I'm not scared of that. That's why I'm here," This is perhaps the last step in my career and the biggest club in the amateur football. I feel I can develop in the way I want here and the way I've always wanted. That's the most important thing." he said moments after signing his contract at pub in Dundee.

Bonargrove's most successful Manager Mark Scrimgeour received the call from coach Cameron late last night confirming the signing and said to us he was delighted to finally capture the elegant player and admitted: "This is a key signing. Mark is one of the best and most exciting defenders in Dundee Sunday morning football."His style and ability will give the team a different dimension and I’m sure he will be a popular player with the fans.“It’s a fantastic piece of business by the club. We've signed a very clever player; great vision, balance, he’s a good tackler and he has presence. That’s not just in terms of his height, he’s got an overall presence about him".

Bonargrove's Commercial Executive Director Marc Stanton added "Mark is delighted to have fulfilled his dream of coming here. He’s looking forward to being part of a team that’ll be challenging for honours on all fronts."

At the time of this being announced, we contacted Dundee Social Manager Kevin Vials about this breaking news but he was unavailable for comment.

Bonargrove AFC Announce New Club Sponsor For Next Season

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 244px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_mJNnsWTY8y8/TBFcYJUJceI/AAAAAAAAAA8/DdN8iJf45g4/s400/CJ+Lang+Logo.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5481263791373644258" />
Bonargrove AFC today announced that CJ Lang and Son would be a club sponsor for next season.

The agreement was signed by Ian Fleming, Transport Operations manager of CJ Lang and Son, and Rod Mclellan, Bonargrove Chairman, and will see the logos of CJ Lang and Son appear on the front and back of the new club polo shirts for the 2010/11 season.

Bonargrove Chairman Rod Mclellan, said: "We are absolutely delighted to have CJ Lang and Son as our new club sponsor. After last weeks no team v Social everyone wondered who would be there. All eyes were on who would turn up. After being promised a run out Mr asda Dunny appeared. Murray "blisters" Campbell returned for only his 3rd appearance of this campaign and Lee Cochrane returned to the bench.

Bonar started well and never gave douglas time to settle. Bonar had chances to take the lead but couldnt take them. Douglas started to come into the match more and scored after a shocking lapse in concentration by Cafu. Some good defending from all players kept Bonar in the match.

A change of tactics by scrim and coach mourinho seemed to pay off. Bonar started dominating the game but then................. poor defending from a throw in let Douglas double their advantage. Bonar started fighting and tackling harder, but it looked like nothing would happen. Chances came and went. Bonar's lifeline then came, a penalty for hand-ball and ascot converted it. Bonar threw the Glens toilet and sink at douglas hoping for the equaliser. A last minute corner from Dunny ended up in the back of the net to wild celebrating scenes from the bonar faithful.

In extra time bonar now fancied their chances but a mix up from scorer ascot and deek let douglas reclaim their advantage. Lee cochrane's wonder strike again brought Bonar back level. In second half of extra time Douglas were under extreme pressure. Bonar eventually took the the lead through a sheva bullet header. With only minutes remaining, Bonar's suicidal defending gave douglas a penalty. As the ball hit the fintry houses and only seconds remaining bonar knew it was another cup win.

Jublient scenes at the end as coach cam and shev lifted the McGuire Trophy. All the squad headed back to the glens to be part of the historic bonagrove afc cup double winning night.

All eyes now on coach Cam and gaffer Scrim to see what players can be recruited for next year!!!

Bonargrove AFC Cup Double Winners 2010

Bonargrove 4 Dundee SC 3- Bonargrove Alex Smith Champions

Alex Smith cup final day, like every Bonar match who would turn up. Well for once the complete opposite. everyone!!! Well it was a final. Scrim and Andy had the choice to tell the players we didn't have enough strips and they wouldnt be playing. Kingster slotted into the defence with young scrim. Stants made up a formidable midfield with Cambo, dog- shit and Chico.

Bonar started well and never gave social a chance and made the breakthrough, Shevas header was flicked on to stants who's bullet header bundled home by young scrim. Social came back when Gav gave away a penalty. Bonar attacked the social defence, like the Americans attacked the Taliban. A beautifully swung in corner by stants was missiled in to the net by young scrim.

Bonar started off the second half in attack mode and had several chances to make the score better. Social came into it and threw everything at Bonar in the second half but never really looked like scoring, then calamity Gav got sent off. This gave Social the edge and went 3-2 up. Bonar looked shocked but always believed. Then captain Shev drew the scores level. Vials spat out his dummy and was sent away from the pitch. Just as he was walking away Nikkita popped up with the winner, Bonar sidelines erupted like the Icelandic Volcano and Socials cup hopes resembled gordon browns election campaign. Not good enough!!. A pile of jubilant Bonar players and management were rolling about the pitch celebrating. Social pushed forward but Bonar held on to be crowned Alex Smith cup champions.

Shev lifted the cup and was the mauled by the Bonar team. Bonar deserved the victory and whole team were immense. Celebrations continued after the match, in the glens and in town. Bonar players partied all night and let everyone know we won. Bonar karaoke was in full swing by this point, "you'll never get 6 in a row" was the chant. Bonar lived the dream and now look forward to the Mcguire trophy semi final V Michelin. Well done lads!!!!!!!!! champions!!!!

Match ratings Bonargrove team and management 10 - Everyone superb!!!!

CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD!!!

Angus Thistle 1 Bonargrove 5

After Sunday's disappointing defeat Bonar were back on league business. Same story, same faces. More phone calls to get players to play or to wake them up. Mr "asda" dunny was working and no cochrane, robbie, rada etc. List is endless.Coach cam got picked up from farmland after another hard drinking session with mrs coach cam.

Once again management led by example by turning up steaming. Changes were made to the team, possibly drink related. Deko started in the unfamiliar role as striker, while injured Chico went in the goal. Scrim eventually went to left back after shitting out vodka and tomato juice. Mussy went into midfield.(must be a cup final coming up). Cuff appeared with a little rat on a lead and pulled on a strip to start on bench.

Bonar got off to their customary start, Angus started better but rarely troubled chico buffon. Everyone was waiting for the team to start playing. Bonar had chances to score but strikers thought missing them would be more fun. Deko's electric pace caused havoc for both teams and scotty's tackling would be assault in the town. Gav decided to break records by seeing how many times he can be sick rather than play. The tiger in gav played on after claiming a world record.

Strong words were slurred by coach cam at half time. Bonar responded by starting to play. Scotty lost a bet and his dignity after hitting the crossbar with his penalty. Dog shit Dave decided to play his own game and keep the ball for as long as possible and not pass to his teammates as he tried to get his hat-trick. Goals from scheva, nikkita, 2 from dog shit and a wonder strike from turo sealed the victory for Bonar. Take a bow son!!. Cuff came on and tried his best to score but wasn't his day. With only four minutes to go and a clean sheet looking likely, Chico buffon had other ideas. Angus lobbed the keeper from the halfway line and only Scrim knows how that feels. Bonar had plenty of chances to make the score look better but poor finishing kept it at five. Wont mention stants's mazy run as you all know the outcome.

Cup final for Bonar on Friday v Dundee SC at Caird park stadium. Everyone should be up for it, so lets do it!! Live the dream!!

Match ratings come from Arthur "Turo" Duncan

Chico 7 - Epic fail from halfway
Stants 8- Great going forward, shite in the box
Alex Smith Trophy - Bonar 2 Douglas Ath. 1

It's 11am on Sunday and Bonar only have 10 players, of those 10 players Turo was the only sober one after Sheva's engagement party the night before. No one gave Bonar a chance, including most of the Bonar, but 90 minutes later Bonar had won the first of their 3 semi-finals to reach the final where they will meet Dundee Social.

Murray "Blisters" Campbell was dragged out his bed to make up the 11 and got there 15 minutes after the start to slot into an unusual left back role and Scrim, Turo and Stants completed the back line. Dunny was playing right mid whilst his jaw was playing up front. Scotty, Dog Shit Dave and Robbie also lined up in midfield with Sheva and Nikkita up top.

The first half was quite uneventful with not many chances for either side - Douglas grabbed the only goal of the half when the striker shoved Stants to score, the referee obviously didn't see it.

Coach Cam's pre-match Friday text stated that everyone was to be there at 10am sharp so he thought it was fine to turn up at half 11. Mess.

Bonar got out of jail at the beginning of the second half when a Douglas striker missed from one yard. Soon after Douglas were reduced to 10 men when Douglas' worst player was sent off, strengthening their side. Bonar went from strength to strength and Robbie scored a bicycle kick that bounced 12 times before going in. It was all Bonargrove and the winner was coming and it fell to "Mr Bonargrove" Scrimmy to rise above everyone, and the bar, to nod home with five minutes to go. It was like a scene from Match of the Day as Scrim pushed the Bonar celebrators away before pulling out the 1990s Klinnsman celebration out the bag. Douglas pushed for the equaliser but Bonar held out and their 3 fans went mad at the end.

The beer was in full flow afterwards although Turo wasn't bothered. News filtered through that Social would be the opponents and the final would be on the 14th which left Scrimmy devastated as it clashes with a game at some shitty stadium.

Match Ratings courtesy of Rod - although some debate as to whether he could see the game through his shades....

Deek 9 - 1st choice
Stants 8 - hairy
Turo 6 - delusional
Scrim 8 - great leap
Murray 8 - blistering pace
Robbie 9 - scored overhead kick
Dunny 5 - mess
Ascot Dave 8 - doesn't pass
Scott 8 - not as good as Dave
Sheva 9 - dominant in air
Nikkita 9 - always a threat

Chico 1
Gav 1
Abody else that didnae turn up 1

Tayside Cup - Lochee Central 2 Bonar 3 AET

This report once again comes courtesy of Mark "Corfu" Stanton.

Another Sunday and more phone calls to get players up, also to find out where Coach Cam ended up after Deja. Coach Cam as usual phoned his players at crazy o'clock to make sure they were in bed for this big match and express his love to them. Gaffer Scrim and Deek turned up in a Stanton state- steaming!!. Players still out injured were in the Bonar ward at Ninewells getting treatment for being moths. Workaholic Dunny was delivering shopping to grannys and still giving them the chat!!

Central started playing mind games from the start by setting fire to one of their homes on the centre circle. The weelie bin was no more. KO was delayed 30 mins and venue changed. Thommo who turned up to watch started at left back. Jenks got out his bed eventually and Deko appeared from no where.

Bonar as usual got off to the worst start, Central dominated the early stages and found themselves 2-0 up early on. Deek got sent off for dissent but he was that drunk the ref couldnt understand what he was saying anyway. Robbie went in goal and the team hoped to keep the score down. Bonar got better in the first half and had chances to draw level.

Scrim gave his normal teamtalk - "we need tigers". This spurned the Bonar players into a roaring second half display. Bonar from the start put Central under pressure. Chance after chance passed and it looked like one of those days, but Ascot Dave's shot deflected in and comeback was on. Central struggled to cope with corners and Sheva's flick was drilled home by Thommo. Thommo was sent off and Central player walked also. Bonar had chances to win it in normal time but extra time was needed.

Extra time started and Bonar carried on where they left off. Bonar had the better chances. Central never really threatened the solid Bonar defence, led by Kolo Turo. Bonar's sidelines erupted like the Icelandic volcano as Sheva's bullet header sent Central out of the cup. Central piled on the pressure but Bonar held out for another semi final!!!!. 3 semi finals now this season for Bonar. Team night out on sat for Sheva's new hobbie- getting married. Ladies take a ticket!!!

Match ratings come from club secretary Norrie Burns:

Deek- 4 steaming
Stants- 9 shouldve been pro
Gav- 8 solid and
Turo-9 another veteran performance
Thommo- 7 goal machine
Robbie-10 buffon
Ascot-8 great workrate and fight
Dazzie-7 played well
Chico-8 never stopped running
Nikkita-10 caused major problems
Sheva- 9 outstanding

Jenks -8 gave different options

Angus Thistle 3 Bonargrove 5

This report comes courtesy of Mark "Corfu" Stanton.

After Sunday's 3-2 defeat to Cutty, Bonar really needed to win this one to get back up the league. Few call offs from Sunday, sicknote Hynds, ive got a job Dunny and many more.

This meant Scrim and Andy had the task of getting a team. Young Scrim and Jenks started with Stants at the unusual position of right midfield. That wasn't the biggest surprise, Chico and Rada turned up.

Gale force winds and heavy rain meant this was going to be tough. Bonar got off to a good start when Robbie scored and it got better when Stants was brought down after a run into the box. Veteran Turo converted the kick with ease.
Wind was causing chaos and a long kick from their keeper caught out the Bonar defence and Deko was beaten.

Scrim got stripped for the 2nd half as Rada the moth got cold and came off, Scrim's gardening gloves were on show!!!
Bonar caught out the Thistle defence right at the start and shocked the Bonar management team when Stants scored. Scrim's cross/shot/pass landed to Stants and he executed it well. To be fair I was due it!!

Young Scrim made it 4-1 with a bullet chest goal as he didnt want to mess up his hair. Thistle pulled one back but Andy threw on Sheva who slotted home with ease. Bubblin in dubblin Gav made a rare mistake to let Thistle score. Deko let everyone know what he thought.

Tackles were now flying and getting tasty but Bonar had the chances to make the scoreline better. Sheva, Lee and another cracking mazie from Stants should've made it comfortable. Good team perfomance and Bonar deserved the win and never looked like losing it!! Sandys next on Thursday, a good result there sets us up pretty nicely for Blackpool trip at weekend!!!

Deko- 7 good perfomance for conditions
Turo- 8 learnt right back from Stants
Gav- 7 at fault for their goal
Young Scrim- 8 always guaranteed good performance
Dazzie- 7 always trying
Stants- 8 due management a decent performance
Scotty- 8 solid in centre and for stirring it up
Jenks- 7 played well- never stopped
Robbie- 7 good workrate till injured
Chico -7 caused thier defence problems
Lee 7- worked well all match

Rada -3 moth
Scheva -6 decent goal and workrate
Scrim -7 for wearing the gayest gloves ever

Three Games Next Week

Sunday: Cutty Sark v. Bonar

Tuesday: Angus Thistle v. Bonar

Thursday: Bonar v. The main talking points of the game were the 3 penalties awarded to Lochee and the 2 not given to Bonar. Well, also Scheva's misses.

Lochee had a chance to take the lead early on when Bean put the striker through on stand-in 'keeper Scotty and he was left with no option but to bring the advancing striker down. Scotty made amends though with a save that had the fans talking for days afterwards.

It didn't stay 0-0 for too long though as a simple cross from the right was finished right into the far corner by the striker despite the despairing dive of Scotty. The 2nd goal followed soon after when a fuck up in defence left the striker through on goal and he finished well. At 1-0 Nikita was taken down in the box and ridiculously the penalty wasn't given. Scheva missed two sitters too.

The second half was fairly even with Scotty pulling out a number of high quality saves but had no chance with two penalties and another neat finish from the Lochee striker. Nikita grabbed a late consolation with a good finish from a Scheva cross.

The highlight of the game was undoubtedly the performance of Scotty and in particular the penalty save and now rumours persist that Deek will have a hard time getting his number one shirt back.

Below is one of the many excellent saves Scotty made....
<br against lower league Blackness in a game they were expected to win. As with last week, Bonar could only muster the bare 11 with a number of key men missing - Derek "Speroni" Petrie was up all night trying to get his goalie top on so he could replace Deek in the sticks and had a great game. Young Scrim and Robbie returned whilst Scotty, Lee and Nikita were notable absentees.

The game was boring. Blackness weren't up to much and were extremely lucky that a combination of bad passing/finishing and an inadequate referee meant that the scoreline stayed at 5. Scheva notched 4 to make him top scorer by a fair bit and Chico notched the other and the two linked up very well up top. Highlight of the game was Scrimmy bursting a gut to get into the box and when Scheva laid it on a plate for him he just fell over. Scrimmy can be seen in this picture controlling the ball.

Another semi-final for the Bonar boys, just need to get a few league points now.

Ratings courtesy of Andy Cameron:

Deko 8: Should be nicknamed 'The Wall'
Turo 6: Not bad for a man in his 50s
Scrimmy 4: Terrible shooting; tackling; and passing
Young Scrim 7: Very solid
Gav 6: Quite solid
Robbie 7: Energetic performance caused 'Ness troubles
Dunny 5: Haffahoff with haffaperformance
Ascot Dave 4: Sleeping
Stants 6: Hairy
Scheva 9: Prolific
Chico 8: Massive threat with pace and constant running

Can someone please remind me of scorers of Cutty and Harleys game please so I update Top Scorers? Numbers were low again, with only Scrimmy and Gary on the bench. Lee, Rada and Mussy were amongst those missing.

Conditions were fairly bad with the wind blowing down the Claypotts brae and Harleys were on top in the first half and earned themselves a 2-1 lead at half-time. Ascot Dave increased his lead at the top of the goal scoring charts with a well taken goal.

Deek pulled up injured in the first half and Scrimmy again had to deputise and with the score at 2-0 pulled off another penalty save.

Despite playing down the hill in the 2nd half, Bonar managed to find themselves quickly 3-1 down but managed to turn it around with a long range miskick from Dunny and a header from Gary. Bonar dominated the rest of the 2nd half and the majority of extra time but couldn't find a way through a resolute Harleys defence. Chico had to come off injured meaning Bonar played the last ten minutes without him.

It came down to the lottery of penalties and despite having an impressive record of saves Scrimmy couldn't win Bonar the game as misses from Gav and Craig Stevens meant Harleys progressed to the next round 8-7 on penalties.

Craig Stevens penalty was captured on a supporter's phone...

This week's ratings and comments come courtesy of club captain Andy Cameron...

Deek 1 - game to forget
Stanton 6 - few hairy moments
Gav 5 - all over the shop!
Andy 5 - drunk and all over the shop
Scotty 6 - solid and good passing
Dunny 6 - some ping!
Dave 7 - on fire!
Chico 6 - still drunk
Robbie 4 - not at the races
Scheva 6 - always a threat
Craig 5 - worst pen ever

Scrim 8 - MoM
Gary 7 - live wire, took goal well

Scottish Cup 3rd Round

Away trip v. the winner of the Lochgreen/Strathclyde Business Park tie. Or defence, midfield and forwards! Deek was away at his idol Stephen Gately's funeral and missed the game meaning Scrimmy pulled on the Admirals this week. Scotty and Chico were missing through injury meaning an unusual look to the team. Lee shifted to left back, Andy played at sweeper, and despite his match rating of 3 last week Mark "1995" Stanton kept his place.

The first half was pretty much as bad as Bonar could play and they found themselves 4-0 down at the interval. Scrimmy was beat by a 25 yard free kick down the middle for the first and then was chipped from 30 yards when he was standing on the line. Lochee's number 9 was finding plenty space and helped himself to a hattrick as Andy looked like he was still on holiday.

The management team weren't happy as you would expect and this led to a slightly improved 2nd half performance. Bonar pulled it back to 4-2 fairly quickly through an Ascot Dave penalty and an excellent volleyed finish from Scheva. Lochee never looked in real danger though and the game finished 4-3 with Dunny grabbing Bonar's other goal.

Highlight of the game was Ascot Dave rugby tackling a Lochee player half his height after a bad tackle. A brawl assumed with Celtic Bill sprinting onto the pitch to confront Dave. Someone held him back luckily.

This week's match ratings and comments come courtesy of Stants.

Ratings

Scrim 6 - lobbed again
Lee 4 - better playing his sister
Andy 6 - still in holiday mode
Gav 6 - made some crazy tackles
Stants 5 - 95 preds still got it
Dunny 3 - huffy wee dick
Robbie 6 - did his best
Ascot Dave 7 - started riot!
Mussy 6 - not the worst
Scheva 6 - take a bow son
Craig 5 - no service

Rada 6 - different attacking option
Gary 6- decent debut
Bonar Sidelines 10 for watching that shite

Bonargrove 5 Lochee Central 3

When you see Tommy King singing "Scheva's Going Home" at Claypotts then you know it's Scottish Cup time for Bonargrove. Last season, Bonar reached the last 16 where they unluckily lost to the eventual finalists and after beating Olde Mill in the first round they faced Lochee Central in the 2nd round.

Central came into the game on the back of a good win over in Tayport but despite looking good in spells they never really looked like winning and Bonar ran out comfortable winners. Lochee, who lacked any real height, looked to play the ball along the ground at most opportunities but most of their attacks were snuffed out and Bonar had the better of the chances in the game.

Bonar lined up in a familiar 4-4-2 formation but had notable absentees in Mussy, Andy and Craig Stevens. Tommy King slotted in at the back; Chico played in centre mid; and Rada was offside.

Lochee Central made a good start when Deek made a rare mistake by fumbling a weak free kick and the striker bundled the ball home. The Central players were delighted and celebrated accordingly.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 212px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_QX9-LBTddw4/StJC-5Z72pI/AAAAAAAAAS4/5pHCmGEr0rQ/s320/LC+midgets.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5391445352244828818" />

Bonar hit back in rapid fashion when Scheva knocked in a goal, and Rada burst clear to give Bonar the lead after 30 mins. Central made it 2-2 soon after when Scrimmy lost his man at the back post. However, it was 3-2 at half time as Tommy slotted home a pen when Ascot Dave was assaulted.

The 2nd half looked like it was going to be tough for Bonar with them shooting up the hill and into the wind but they got off to a flyer and were 5-2 up inside 10 mins of the 2nd half. Top scorer Ascot Dave grabbed both, one from the spot when Rada was upended and the Central player was lucky not to be red carded. Lochee grabbed a consolation with 10 mins to go with a long range strike but Bonar held on and now progress to round 3.

This week's match ratings come courtesy of Scheva, word for word:

Deek 6 - flogged @ least one, gr8 keeper tho
Stants 3 - awful, broke new boots in with a wimper
Gav 7 - solid
Tommy 8 - calming influence long live the king
Scotty 7 - above average
Dunny 5 - worse than man short
Ascot Dave 8 - on fire
Chico 6 - dominated by midgets
Robbie 7 - worked hard as always
Rada 7 - missed a few but constant threat
Scheva 7 - average, probably still drunk tho....

Deko and Scrim (not used) - if Carlsberg made subbies

Bonargrove 9 Angus Thistle 2

Another week where Bonar only just managed to scrape together 11 players but luckily Angus Thistle couldn't even get 11 as they played the first half with 10 and the second half with 9. This led to a pretty dominating performance from Bonar, although Thistle did lead for the majority of the 1st half and were level 2-2 at half time.

Bonar had many notable absentees with both Gav and Ascot Dave working, aswell as Dunny not turning up. Assistant Manager Andy was missing too but he had a reasonable excuse as he was filming Soccer AM the previous day.<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 222px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_QX9-LBTddw4/SsuGjk4MVWI/AAAAAAAAASo/USXIaQHM4bQ/s320/Andy+Cameron.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389549324831839586" />

Scrimmy was forced to play and formed a defensive partnership with Scotty whilst Mussy made his first start in a Bonar shirt on the wing. Craig Stevens was partnered by Robbie up top as Scheva was dropped into a midfield role.

Bonar got the game off to a flyer as they scored straight from kick off when a flowing move was finished by Craig Stevens without a Thistle player touching the ball. The lead was short-lived though as Angus Thistle scored a goal soon after despite the striker being a clear 5 yards offside. Mistakes from the referee were commonplace in this game though as he seemed to take sympathy on the side who were men short and numerous offside decisions at both ends were given in Thistle's favour.

An error from Scrimmy led to Thistle taking a 2-1 lead but fortunately Scheva chipped in an equaliser on the stroke of half time. Scrimmy wasn't happy at half time and bemoaned the players for thinking it was easy due to them only having 10 men. However, after Bonar scored straight after half time Scrimmy could be heard shouting "let's get abodys name in the tele"!

Shooting down the hill and with the wind Bonar could have scored 20 but had to make do with 9 as Mussy (1 goal) and Chico (2 goals) ran riot down the wings. Mussy didn't pass once. Craig Stevens completed his hattrick in the 2nd half to move joint top of the scorers list. Robbie and Lee completed the scoring, with Lee scoring with his only touch of the 2nd half.

Victory means Bonar have got off to a good start in the Alex Smith Section with 6 points from 6 and next up is a tough game against Lochee Central in the Scottish Cup.

Match Ratings

Deek 7
Stanton 7
Scrimmy 6
Scotty 6
Chico 7
Mussy 7
Lee 5
Scheva 7
Robbie 7
Craig Stevens 8

Breaking News!

Looks like Dunny has signed for a new team, found this picture on some team's website!

<img style="display:block; Social Flu was strong with Mussy, Rada, Young Scrimmy and Stanton all missing from last week. Stanton had a reasonable excuse as he was at Old Trafford and sent the guys a photo of him and his girlfriend enjoying the atmosphere.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_QX9-LBTddw4/SroKjKC__UI/AAAAAAAAAR4/enLmtBbj2l8/s320/Picture+037.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5384627903583485250" />

Chico turned up steaming and took up an unfamiliar centre midfield role, whilst Mark brushed off a nasty injury to take his place up front.<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_QX9-LBTddw4/SroLUPpzncI/AAAAAAAAASA/xdaxDj5wsTg/s200/Picture+038.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5384628746902019522" />

Social dominated the opening exchanges and took the lead after 15 minutes when a ball over Scrimmy's head was volleyed home well by the Social midfielder. Bonar were struggling to get into the game and the same Social player rattled in a fine strike from 20 yards to double their advantage. This was the kick that Bonar needed and a tremendous strike from top scorer Ascot Dave reduced the deficit. With the height of Scrim, Mark, Dave and Gav in the team Bonar are always a threat at set pieces and a great delivery from Dunny was bundled home by Gav to equalise before half time.

The second half was a close battle, with both sides enjoying long periods of possession with Bonargrove having the better of the chances with Craig Stevens having a chance when through on the 'keeper. With 5 minutes to go a Mark header was cleared off the line and it looked as though the game was set for a draw until the referee awarded Social a soft free kick 40 yards out. The free kick was floated over the defensive line and bundled home by one of Social's 8 subs to leave the Bonar players dejected.

Despite the loss, Scrim was reasonably happy with the display and hopefully Bonar can build on this performance in the upcoming weeks.

Match Ratings:

Deek 7 - had little to do
Scotty 7 - shifted to an unfamilair RB role
Thomo 3 - injured
Gav 8 - dominated everything til late winner
Andy 7 - good performance in first game back
Robbie 7 - another solid performance
Dunny 8 - constant threat coupled with great work rate
Chico 7 - steaming
Ascot Dave 7 - cracking goal
Scheva 8 - didn't lose a header
Craig Stevens 7 - great outlet

Scrim 8 - excellent performance at LB

Stanton's New Boots

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 133px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_QX9-LBTddw4/SrKYMKsCD9I/AAAAAAAAARw/OI-kxWaJGLo/s200/Stanton%27sNewBoots.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5382531839456055250" />
Only £110 on eBay - get yours now!

Have You Seen This Man?

Wanted for a string of indecent incidents. Bonar were expected to win but after rattling 9 goals past the opposition the team were left annoyed that they didn't score many more after a dominant display.

Scottish Cup fever coupled with the unusual afternoon kick-off meant a squad of 17 showed at 12:30 meaning manager Scrimmy had some difficult selection decisions prior to the game. Goalkeeper Deek and defender Young Scrim made their first appearances of the season, whilst Lee Lee Lee returned to the middle of the park to partner Ascot Dave.<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_QX9-LBTddw4/Sq_MCcMcM3I/AAAAAAAAARQ/rBcwGIn2T3A/s320/IMG_0309.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5381744422031209330" /> After a shocker in defence against Tayport, Big Mark was moved to a more familiar striking role. Stanton, Gav, Scotty, Robbie, Dunny and Craig Stevens also made the starting 11. Andy, Mussy and Chico were amongst the subs. Many were surprised that Dunny made the game after rumours he got action off a young thing the previous night.

Bonar got off to a flying start with Dunny scoring two early goals, one an overhead fluke and the other a scuff. Dunny's brace was quickly added to as Mark and Robbie netted but this only made the entire team want to get on the scoresheet as a combination of a lacking of passing and too much passing meant no more goals in the first half. Scotty was showing good attacking flair from left back and showed why many liken him to Roberto Carlos in his prime. Craig Stevens had a half to forget as he missed a few good chances, much to the bemusement of the supporters.

The second half began like the first as Bonar grabbed a couple of early goals through Robbie and top scorer Ascot Dave. There was much debate after the game as to whether it was Dog Shit Dave's goal or an own goal but after a quick vote Davie was awarded the goal. Olde Mill managed to score at some point as Dunny lost his man.

After opening up a big lead, assistant manager Andy decided to make changes and Rada replaced Big Mark and Mussy came on for Scotty. This was not to Mark's liking and he stormed up to the tunnel. Bonar controlled the remainder of the game and Rada grabbed two goals whilst Craig Stevens finally scored when a thunderbolt toe-poke which seemed to break the keeper's hand. Disappointingly, Young Scrim limped off with what looked like a reoccurence of his knee injury.

Spirits were high after the high scoring win but in reality Bonar should have scored at least 15. Stanton took the majority of the stick for getting his mum to iron his fresh pants and socks.<img style="float:right; After winning 6-2 in the season opener against Sandys the confidence was high but unfortunately it was Deko's 21st the night before and we only scraped 11 together when Andy pulled Chico out his bed at 10:30. Big shout out to Gav for managing to pull himself away from Gemma to make the game. Top man.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_QX9-LBTddw4/Spq7plzw6AI/AAAAAAAAAQo/Hg2CtRTlZTs/s320/IMG_0253.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5375815428418365442" />

Deek remains injured so Scrimmy again deputised in goal, whilst a lack of numbers meant Scheva moved to an unusual centre half role. Scotty, Gav and new signing Stanton completed the defence. Chico and Dunny started on the wings with Dog Shit Dave and Robbie in the middle of the park. Craig Stevens and Cristiano Ronaldo were the chosen strike partnership.

Bonar got off to their customary good start when a defensive header from Big Mark fell to Sloth from the Goonies and he chipped the "scrambling" Scrimmy from 45 yards to give Tayport the lead.<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 199px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_QX9-LBTddw4/SprNhI96vyI/AAAAAAAAAQw/UIx3HGwpiEY/s200/ChampionsLeagueBall.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5375835074446671650" /> Almost straight from the restart Gav thought the Tayport striker was Gemma and tried to hump him leading to the ref pointing to the spot. However, Scrim made up for the first goal by saving the penalty. The rest of the half was fairly brutal with Bonar playing terrible allowing Tayport to race into a 4-0 lead. Ascot Dave pulled one back before half time when he converted/scuffed home a penalty after Rada was nailed by the 'keeper.

The management team of Scrimmy and Andy weren't happy and at half time Scrimmy blew his top and demanded a much improved second period. Everyone just laughed at him. Andy was really motivational.<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_QX9-LBTddw4/Spq7TuwChdI/AAAAAAAAAQg/__nth0APn44/s320/IMG_0258.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5375815052861539794" />

Bonar came out in the 2nd half raring to go and after Mark was tripped in the box Hyndser slotted home his second penalty of the game. However, that's as good as it got for Bonar as poor defending allowed Tayport to score 2 more goals in the 2nd half whilst Bonar created very little. Highlight of the 2nd half was perhaps Chico beating the big ugly striker in the air after Sheva had failed to do so all game.

So after a disappointing 90 minutes Tayport took the three points back to bloody Fife with a 6-2 victory. Bonargrove can only improve though with many players missing today and no parties planned for the next while.

Player Ratings:

Scrimmy 5 - lobbed from the half way line
Stanton 6 - excellent 1995 Predators
Sheva 5 - waste of money
Gav 4 - shagged Gemma
Scotty 4 - shit
Chico 5 - still sleeping
Dunny 5 - lucky Moussy was ill
Ascot Dave 8 - MoM, best player by a fair bit
Robbie 7 - excellent work rate
Craig Stevens 5 - no service
Rada 4 - won penalty

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://bonargrove.blogspot.com/2009/08/bonargrove-v-tayport-300809.html' title='Bonargrove v.
